XP system cleanup after Desktop Security 2010/2011 Attack

Problem: Desktop Security 2010 and/or 2011 loaded onto XP system despite having Sophos rev. 9.5 installed. This malware over-rides MS Windows firewall and over-rides the anti-virus program.

Solution: Cleanup in safe mode with networking using Spybot and MS remote security essential scan. Had to use TDSSKiller to cleanup completely. Sophos was unable to deal with this problem.

Whirlpool, washer, Ultimate Care II LSQ8243H, not draining/spinning

Problem: Whirlpool washer  Ultimate Care II LSQ8243H not draining/spinning. Makes noise indicating that it wants to but no action and then the noise is gone. The agitator spins freely when machine is off and the lid sensor operates when lid is lowered.

Solution: take washer cover off and check all drains to make sure there are no obstructions. Obstruction, a sock, located in the drain pump ! removed and all works fine now.
